The United States Air Force (USAF) Mountain Home Air Force Base (AFB) has released a video showcasing the first three Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) air crew to graduate from the Fighter Weapons Instructor Course in the US Peace Carvin V detachment.
According to the USAF, the course is modeled after the U.S. Air Force’s fighter weapons school and instructors. It teaches RSAF aircrew about advanced combat maneuvers and tactics.
This graduation signalled the fact that the RSAF now has their own Fighter Pilot Instructor and Fighter Weapon Instructor on both the F-16 and the F-15 platforms.
However it is important to note that not all RSAF pilots and weapon instructors have to undergo US training. The RSAF have instructors who are through trained in Singapore and their own tactics, which is said to be ‘different’ from the United States. Therefore it comes to me as no surprise if the RSAF already have their own Fighter Weapon Instructors up their own sleeves.
We wish the trio the best and bring new insights and development to train and sustain future RSAF fighter pilots.
